Fire and Hops is the creation of Joel Coleman and Josh Johns. Joel and Josh met in 2010 while working for two other Santa Fe entities – Koi Restaurant and 2nd Street Brewery. As camaraderie and friendship ensued, so did the seeds of a future endeavor.
Returning to Santa Fe after spending a few years in the restaurant industry in San Francisco, Joel met with Josh, who had subsequently worked to launch Santa Fe Hard Cider. Both had long recognized the need for a gastropub in Santa Fe – an upscale pub that serves high quality food and superb beverages at prices typical of a neighborhood eatery. Their shared vision became Fire and Hops, named as a nod to the two integral elements of such a place – exceptional dining and delicious brew in a casual venue.
Further, Joel and Josh recognized that their concept included solid sustainable practices, supporting local farmers and ranchers, and building an environment that supports all of our community, families, and friends and is reflective of the varied people who make Santa Fe their home.
Their business hours reflect this philosophy by having dinner 7 nights a week, and a special farmer’s market lunch every Saturday and Sunday built around available, local ingredients.
